Export Clips

Export from iPad to any storage location (Video example below)

• Can be an external SD card, thumb drive, or any drive able to plug into an iPad
• Note: You can also export directly to a storage location on the iPad if you wish as well

Steps:

1. In the Laser Replay App, navigate to the main menu and select Export
2. A popup will appear with selectable locations to export to. Options will include storage locations directly on the iPad, or any drive plugged into the iPad (for example, a Micro SD Card connected via USB)

In the video example below, clips are exported to a Micro SD card, named LR Clips, connected to the iPad via USB-C. All cameras, and drawings are selected, and 386 video/image files are exported the the micro SD card.

A folder is created on the storage device named clips-cameras_{CAMERA_IDS}-{YEAR-MONTH-DAY}_{TIME}

CAMERA_IDS: IDs of any cameras you selected

YEAR-MONTH-DAY: Date of the export

TIME: Time of the export

Example: clips-cameras_1_3_2-2026-01-01_12-00-00-PM

Inside the folder clips-cameras_1_3_2-2026-01-01_12-00-00-PM are two more folders:

• video: Any video files exported will be here
  • clips are named in the format clip_{CLIP_ID}_{CAMERA_ID}.mp4
    • CLIP_ID: the unique ID of that clip (for all camera angles)
    • CAMERA_ID: the camera ID you selected for each remote camera angle the Laser Replay App
• drawings: Any drawing files (as .jpg), if you selected to export drawings

The clips will be ordered chronologically from first to last with all camera angles adjacent to each other. For example:

• Clip #1
  • Main Angle
  • Endzone Angle
• Clip #2
  • Main Angle
  • Endzone Angle
• Clip #3
  • Main Angle
  • Endzone Angle

Typical total file sizes for clip sets (for a high school football game with 12:00 quarters):

• 1080p 60fps with 1 camera angle: generally the total size for all the clips combined will be about 1.3 GB
• 1080p 60fps with 2 camera angles: generally the total size for all the clips combined will be about 2.6 GB
• 1080p 60fps with 3 camera angles: generally the total size for all the clips combined will be about 3.9 GB

These are just general approximations. The actual size will vary based on how long each clip is, how many plays are recorded, and video format. The above estimations are very close to what we see typically.

Example Use Case:

If you are using more than one camera angle, you may wish to export two different sets of clips. One export set with only one camera angle, and one set with all angles. This way if you wish to share film through Hudl, you will have a set with just one camera angle, if you wish to keep the other angles private.
